Allie wants him and she wants him bad. She begins a stealthy campaign of enticing him while he works. But Rick is also one very-focused-on-work guy. No matter what Allie offers... he ain´t biting. Not until she crosses the line with a desperate scheme to get him in the sack with her. Then she finds out the hard way that, no matter how naughty she may be, her randy handyman is naughtier! WARNING: This 8,000+ word story contains light BDSM and mind-blowing sex between a gorgeous young fix-it guy and a gorgeous, young, and very horny woman. It is intended for mature readers, 18 or over. Here is a brief taste! When Rick´s van came rolling up her driveway precisely at eight the next morning, Allie was ready for him. She sauntered over to the front door, already open, so that he could get a nice long view of her approach. She was wearing nothing but a short, unbelted white terrycloth robe that she held closed demurely with one hand as she toyed with a lock of wild, still-damp hair with the other. She could just about see him drooling at the sight. Oh, yeah? Watch this, my randy handyman. Arriving at the door, she offered him a smile that was the perfect blend of sweet and seductive. ´´Hiya, Rick.´´ ´´Mornin´,´´ he replied, doing a poor job of forcing his eyes to remain on her face. Then she released her robe to open the door and as he stepped inside, she treated him to a full frontal that, unless he was in a coma, he would not forget. ´´Oh, sorry,´´ she said, quickly covering herself to cover back up. ´´I can´t seem to find the belt to this little thing anywhere.´´ 1. La natura scoperta dal pensiero della complessità è una natura aperta, dinamica, interdipendente. Noi siamo natura. È la natura che crea i nostri sogni. Senza la natura, i sogni non esistono. Once upon a time, when a Civil War threatened to fracture the US, there was a monarchy south of the Rio Grande. That kingdom was called Mexico. It had a magnificent castle, a beautiful princess and a tall, handsome prince; he was noble and idealistic, he had fire in his heart, but he was weak and gullible. A fool, some would say. One day, when he was still a teenager, he wrote, ´´Ambition is like the balloonist. To some extent, the rise is nice and he does enjoy a splendid view and a vast landscape. But when he rises more, vertigo occurs, the air becomes thin and the risk of a big fall increases.´´ With this parable, the Austrian Archduke Maximilian of Hapsburg inadvertently predicted the destiny to which he would bravely ride, despite the warnings and the sweet talkers. In any case, he followed his heart´s mandate. And Charlotte, the princess, was ´´one of the most cultured and beautiful´´ in Europe. Since she was a girl, she´d known that one day she would become a queen or an empress. When it was first hinted that they would be offered the crown of Mexico, she was 22 and he was 28, and they were surrounded by the intrigue and ambition of their own brothers, who could not wait to have them removed from the picture. So when, three years later, the couple received the official diplomatic mission which affirmed Mexico required their presence, the proposition was like a fairy tale come true. In the imagination of the era, Mexico was the distant paradise described by the great geographer Alexander von Humboldt: thick jungles and forests, steaming volcanoes, copious gold and silver mines, infinite beaches and exotic birds. 1. Jack Wade, a claims adjuster for California Fire and Life Mutual Insurance Company, is one of the best arson investigators around. He´s a man who knows fire, who can read the traces it leaves behind like a roadmap. When he´s called in to examine an unusual claim, the tracks of the fire tell him that something´s wrong. So wrong that he violates his own cardinal rule - ´´You don´t get personal, you don´t get emotional. Whatever you do, you don´t get involved´´ - and plunges into the case. Real estate mogul Nicky Vale´s house is one of the most valuable properties on this stretch of the Southern California gold coast - large, luxurious, crammed with antiques, set on a nice piece of land with a perfect ocean view. After a disastrous blaze tears through a wing of the house, it´s only normal that Vale would file an insurance claim. But a $3 million claim is rarely normal, especially not when it´s filed within hours of the horrific death of the owner´s young and beautiful wife. The County Sheriff´s Department investigator, Brian ´´Accidentally´´ Bentley, has declared the fire, well, accidental - caused by Mrs. Vale´s passing out in bed with a bottle of vodka and a lit cigarette - although a careful look at the evidence points to something more sinister. When Jack begins his investigation, he draws on his skill, experience and sheer stubbornness to uncover the truth of what´s going on, but each step leads him further into a situation that´s becoming increasingly dangerous. Soon arson is the least of Jack´s worries, as the case grows to involve the Russian mob, Vietnamese gangs, real estate scams, counterfeiting and corporate corruption. In addition, Jack´s forced to confront his own ghosts, including a fatal professional error, and to cope with the sudden reentry into his life of the best thing that ever happened to him: Letitia del Rio, a Sheriff´s deputy whose bombshell looks are exceeded only by her smarts and guts. 1. The work of the photographer, theatrical designer, narcissist, snob, careerist, and exceptionally talented Cecil Beaton (1904-1980), including 18,000 vintage prints, negatives and transparencies, contact sheets and 45 books of cuttings are at the Victoria & Albert Museum. They have all been brilliantly culled for the alluring and significant exhibition of some of Beaton´s royal portraits, billed as A Diamond Jubilee Celebration. Sir Roy Strong put Beaton firmly back on the map after he had gone out of fashion with a dazzling 1968 compilation at the National Portrait Gallery. He is firmly of the view that Beaton´s imagery of the royals saved the royals as far as the public were concerned after the debacle of the abdication. Indeed, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother wrote to Beaton in 1963 thanking him for ´´producing us as really quite nice and real people´´. ´´Producing´´ is the operative verb: Beaton staged the royals. The V&A´s presentation shows us just how much Beaton has made his view of the royals ours. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Denise Kahn. The tour begins at Columbus Circle at the USS Maine Memorial, the only formal entrance to the park. Stops include: Tavern on the Green: from sheepfold to fine dining Sheep Meadow: there really were sheep on this meadow from 1864-1934 The Carousel: The original carousel was built in the 1870s, this one was moved here from Coney Island in the 1950s and is one of the finest merry-go-rounds in America The Dairy: Part of a social experiment to bring free milk to working class kids The Mall: The formal centerpiece of the park, creating a straight line that runs due North-South through the park on a line with Belvedere Castle Bethesda Terrace: The most ornately carved area of the park; best place to see the Ramble, Lake, and Angel of the Waters as one long view The Model Boat pond: If you´re here on a nice weekend, rent a model boat and give it a whirl Cleopatra´s Needle: Brought to America in 1880s, 1500 BC Belvedere Castle: Turret is highest point in the park Shakespeare Garden: Planted in the 1920s to ensure that as many plants as mentioned in Shakespeare that could grow in a NYC climate would be available for the enjoyment/edification of Americans And, of course, the most popular statue in the park. 1.
