When other girls her age were experiencing their first crushes, Melissa Sue Anderson was receiving handwritten marriage proposals from fans as young, and younger, than she was. When other girls were dreaming of their first kiss, Melissa was struggling through hers in front of a camera. From age eleven in 1974 until she left the show in 1981, Melissa Anderson literally grew up before the viewers of Little House on the Prairie. Melissa, as Mary, is remembered by many as “the blind sister”—and she was the only actor in the series to be nominated for an Emmy. In The Way I See It, she takes readers onto the set and inside the world of the iconic series created by Michael Landon, who, Melissa discovered, was not perfect, as much as he tried to be. In this memoir she also shares her memories of working with guest stars like Todd Bridges, Mariette Hartley, Sean Penn, Patricia Neal, and Johnny Cash. In addition to stories of life on the set, Melissa offers revealing looks at her relationships off-set with her costars, including the other Melissa (Melissa Gilbert) and Alison Arngrim, who portrayed Nellie Oleson on the show. And she relates stories of her guest appearances on iconic programs such as The Love Boat and The Brady Bunch. Filled with personal, revealing anecdotes and memorabilia from the Little House years, this book is also a portrait of a child star who became a successful adult actress and a successful adult. These are stories from “the other Ingalls sister” that have never been told.

Hermes Pan began choreographing Hollywood musicals in 1933, when his long-standing collaboration with Fred Astaire began. For over three decades he was the man who made the stars dance - Ginger Rogers, Betty Grable, Rita Hayworth, Cyd Charisse, Shirley MacLaine and many others. Assimilating elements from the multitude of cultures that co-existed around him, Pan created a style of dance that was truly American. In this programme, Pan introduces a dance extravaganza which takes viewers back to the days when the musical was all the rage, with extracts from “My Gal Sal”, with Rita Hayworth and Hermes Pan himself, “Royal Wedding”, with Fred Astaire, “Kiss Me Kate”, with Bob Fosse, Ann Miller and Carol Haney, “Sombrero”, with Cyd Charisse, Pal Joey, with Frank Sinatra, Rita Hayworth and Kim Novak, “Silk Stockings”, with Fred Astaire and Cyd Charisse, “Excuse My Dust”, with Sally Forrest, “Three Little Words”, with Fred Astaire and Vera Allen, and the scene from Joseph L. Mankiewicz’s “Cleopatra”, starring Elizabeth Taylor, when she makes her entry into Rome. This is the last programme made with Pan before his death in 1990 and is a fascinating combination of irresistible archive film of the best of Hollywood’s dancers, and the unique viewpoint of one of cinema’s greatest choreographers.

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Brookside was a British soap opera set in Liverpool, England. The series began on the first night of the then-new network Channel 4 on 2 November 1982, and ran for 21 years until 4 November 2003. Produced by Mersey Television, it was conceived by Phil Redmond who also devised Grange Hill (1978 2008) and Hollyoaks (1995 present). Brookside became notable for its tackling of realistic and socially challenging storylines and was most popular in the 1980s and early 1990s. In the mid-1990s it began raising more controversial issues under the guidance of new producers such as Mal Young and Paul Marquess. It is especially well-known for broadcasting the first pre-watershed lesbian kiss on British television in December 1993, as well as a storyline featuring a consensual incestuous sexual relationship between two sibling characters during 1996. Although the series had a long and successful run, by 2000 its viewing figures were in decline and low ratings eventually led to its cancellation in 2003. The final episode was broadcast on 4 November 2003 and was watched by around 2 million viewers.
